- Only Postulants and Sponsors are required to attend
- If you have not already given your raffle prize to Lady Angela, please bring it along to the rehearsal
- The Capes will be available to try on, to check that sizing is correct.
- This rehearsal covers every step of the ceremony so it can take up to 2 hours.
The Investiture Ceremony
TIME: Saturday, June 22, beginning at 2pm sharp
PLACE: St Mary's Catholic Church, 56 Burton St Concord
- All Sponsors, Postulants, Knights and Dames attending, will assemble in the school hall, located at the front of church grounds (entry via Parramatta Rd) by 1pm.
- All Sponsors, Postulants, Knights and Dames will line up outside the church and process into the church together.
- Knights and Dames are required to be in full regalia, including white gloves.
- Postulants will be given their cape, medal and white gloves. They will receive their certificate at the end of the ceremony.
- Guests are encouraged to be at the church, in enough time to be seated by 1.45pm sharp.
- Limited parking is available in the church grounds, accessed via Parramatta Rd., but there is ample parking in the surrounding streets.
- The entry via Burton St will only be open to allow drop offs. THERE IS NO PARKING IN THE CHURCH GROUNDS, OFF BURTON ST.
- St Mary's Villa, Aged Care Home is on the same property, adjacent to the church and it is asked that noise be kept to a minimum.
The Investiture Ball
TIME: 5.30pm for 6pm
PLACE: Curzon Hall, 53 Agincourt Rd, Marsfield
- After the ceremony, it is requested that all Knights and Dames proceed directly to the venue, as the photographer will take group photos of the newly invested Knights and Dames first and then all other Knights and Dames of the Order
- Guests will be seated by 5.50pm
- New Knights and Dames will be introduced to the guests as they process in
- The Grand Prior has traditionally invited a new Knight/Dame to deliver a speech at the Ball, on behalf of the group and will contact one of you directly in the coming weeks.
Photographer
- A professional photographer has always been asked to attend the Investiture Ceremony and Ball. It has been common practice for the new Knights and Dames to cover the cost of the photography. This year the cost of photography will be $170. The photographer will be available from the Ceremony, right into the evening at the Reception. He will be available to take professional photos with your family and friends as well. Each postulant will be given a USB with all photographs taken on the day..
Raffle
- Traditionally, Postulants have contributed to the raffle by donating prizes. Please let Lady Angela know what you will be donating as soon as possible, in order to assist with the printing of Raffle tickets, well ahead of time.
- Raffle ticket booklets will be distributed, to be sold by Postulants, Knights and Dames.
- All raffle tickets, sold or unsold, need to be returned, in order to comply with Department of Liquor, Gaming and Racing regulations.
