MAINTAINING SOVEREIGNTY AND CHARACTER: The Sovereign Hospitaller Order of St John of Jerusalem, Knights of Malta traces its legitimate lineage to the Russian tradition, established by Tsar Paul I. Christian-ecumenical in character, the Order, its Knights, Dames, and volunteers, are under the protection of His Imperial Royal Highness the Prince Grand Master, Sandor Habsburg - Lothringen, Archduke of Austria, Prince of Tuscany.
His Eminence Cardinal Sergio Sebastiani became spiritual protector of the Order in 2012 and renewed his apostolic benediction in 2018. The members of the Sovereign Hospitaller Order of Saint John of Jerusalem dedicate their time and resources, in whatever capacity they can, for the benefit of others, irrespective of race, colour or creed and functions across borders.
As a legitimate Order, our authenticity is demonstrated through our actions and integrity. We are committed to serving as an active force for good in a world facing profound needs. Bearing the significant legacy of over nine centuries of history, compassion, and unwavering service, we accept the solemn responsibility of carrying this torch forward.
